The rest area “Il Chiaro ”, is located in a completely flat area right next to Lake Chiusi, on a grassy surface. It is the ideal place to relax and for nature lovers; in fact, in this corner of paradise you can listen to the songs of the many varieties of fauna present along the shores of the lake, such as the wigeon, the coot, the tufted duck, the mallard, the marsh harrier and many others.
It has 15 large equipped parking spaces with electricity, all shaded and surrounded by our beautiful Tuscan countryside. Inside you will find free cold showers and hot coin-operated showers, fully accessible toilets, sinks for clothes and dishes, water loading and unloading service.
For those who want to have a barbecue to socialize with other camper friends or why not, even just with your family, the area has a barbecue to use at your leisure, always maintaining respect for the other guests of the structure and the nature that surrounds us.
In this area you can also go fishing. In fact, the lake waters are rich in fish that form a fundamental component for some typical dishes of the Chiusi area, dishes cooked right in the two restaurants nearby, which can delight you with a wide choice of dishes for all tastes.
Near the rest area you can also enjoy a small playground for children, a green space for sunbathing and a picnic area equipped with tables and barbecues and for fitness lovers a space for the outdoor gym and the completely flat reclamation path that connects Chiusi to Arezzo to do by bike or with a beautiful walk you can reach the lake of Montepulciano.

Next to the campsite there is a play area dedicated to children, surrounded by greenery and safe. The area is equipped with slides and swings, above a beautiful meadow of daisies. Thanks to the presence of shaded areas and benches, the play area is the ideal place to entertain the little ones while parents relax nearby.
For those who want to have a barbecue to socialize with other camper friends or why not, even just with your family, the area has a nice barbecue to use at your leisure, always maintaining respect for the other guests of the structure and the nature that surrounds us.

Lake Chiusi , which takes its name from the town of the same name located 3 km away, is located right in the heart of the Valdichiana Senese, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria.
The beautiful lake is considered a resting and nesting area for many species of migratory birds, but not only that, there is also a vast variety of fish fauna such as the royal perch, trout, tench and catfish. Another aspect that characterizes the lake is the presence of the reed bed located right on the banks. In addition to being a good shelter for the animals present on the banks, the reed bed has always been used since ancient times to make roofs for huts, reeds to dry the grapes for vinsanto and to prepare the brustico .
It is for this reason that Lake Chiusi is of great naturalistic interest, especially for the presence of some species of birds that have now become rare and the Municipality of Chiusi has included the “Chiaro” area within the Protected Natural Area of Local Interest.
And it is precisely in this spectacular setting that the “Il Chiaro” Rest Area is located, a magical place immersed in the uncontaminated nature of Lake Chiusi surrounded by the typical Tuscan countryside that characterizes the entire area.
Why did we choose the name “Il Chiaro”…… The term CHIARO was used in ancient times to indicate the body of water of the lake, the clean water without vegetation, to distinguish it from the surrounding marsh that surrounded the territory of Chiusi. It is said that the Etruscan goddess of the sky, the Goddess Tiu , reflected herself in these very clean waters.
